Esther Vilar Portillo
Born in Barcelona, Esther Vilar Portillo combines a solid career as a pianist with a profound intellectual background. She graduated in Piano Performance from ESMUC under the guidance of Jordi Camell and specialized in the Lied genre through the "Victoria de los Ángeles" Master's degree, where she has also served as a collaborative pianist. She is currently furthering her studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg under the tutelage of Pauliina Tukiainen, having also received lessons from renowned figures such as Francisco Poyato, Anne Le Bozec, Wolfram Rieger, and Graham Johnson, among others.
Awarded Best Lied Pianist at the AESPIRE competition, her career is highlighted by performances at prestigious festivals such as the Oxford International Song Festival, the Bonner Schumannfest, LIFE Victoria Barcelona, and the Torroella de Montgrí Festival. Selected for talent support programs such as Lied the Future and the SongEasel Young Artist Programme, Esther brings a unique perspective to musical interpretation thanks to her parallel academic background, having graduated with honors in Literary Studies and holding a Master's degree in Literary Theory.
